Y Ddraig Goch
Also known as: The Welsh Dragon · The flag of Wales
The only national flag of the United Kingdom home nations to feature a living creature. The red dragon on white and green has ancient roots in Welsh mythology and history, appearing as a symbol of Wales long before the Tudor period. The current flag design — with the dragon passant on a divided white and green field — was formally adopted by Royal Warrant in 1959. The white and green represent the livery colours of Henry VII.
